"Residents reported 16 explosions in the airport area near Belgorod, Russia," the Ukrainian Armed Forces Strategic Communications Center wrote on Telegram, as reported by Ukrinform.
Ukrainian media have posted videos on the sites showing smoke stacks after the airbase explosions.
According to the Russian state news agency Ria Novosti, this morning "the air defense system worked on Belgorod, there were 16 explosions, the windows of the houses were shaking, the car alarms went off, there were very loud noises".
