Thousands of people took part this Sunday, October 16 in Paris in a "march against the high cost of living and climate inaction" organized


"It's a triumph," welcomed the leader of La France insoumise, Jean-Luc Mélenchon.

According to the organizers, 140,000 demonstrators responded to the appeal of the left, launched since last July, to stimulate social protest against the government.

The authorities, they count 30,000 participants.

The start was given at 2 p.m., Place de la Nation, towards the Bastille.

In the middle of the flags, the entire left was represented this Sunday.

The whole left marched against the high cost of living and the climate crisis.

“There are energies that explode, there are foodstuffs that explode.

We will never get out of it at this level, ”explains Michael, a demonstrator.

“There is also everything that is climatic.

Climate inaction for all these years is starting to weigh and have serious consequences, ”laments another protester.

"To secure the march", 2000 police and gendarmes were mobilized.

The police used tear gas in the face of some incivility, in particular vandalized windows, which occurred along the procession.
