(ANSA) - ROME, OCTOBER 20 - The parliamentary intergroup "United for Ukraine - Italy" is born in the Chamber of Deputies.

The initiative was presented today, in the printing room of the Chamber of Deputies, by Lia Quartapelle, deputy of the Democratic Party, Riccardo Magi, deputy and president of PiùEuropa, with Anna Ascani, deputy of the Democratic Party and vice-president of the Chamber, and Benedetto Della Vedova, deputy and secretary of Più Europa.

The intergroup plans to organize a new mission to Kiev before the end of the year.

"Today we present - underlined Lia Quartapelle - the initiative of the parliamentary intergroup 'United for Ukraine-Italy': an initiative of dialogue between the Italian, Ukrainian, European Parliament and those of various other European and NATO countries, that we have been cultivating since the last legislation ".

According to Riccardo Magi "it is important to express, not only symbolically, but concretely with the start of an interparliamentary work, a clear position in support of Ukraine.

Berlusconi's words destabilize not only the formation of the government but also the positioning of the Italian government in a very delicate phase "." It is a great responsibility - added Anna Ascani - to begin the new mandate of the House President with this initiative.

It is symbolically important to place oneself on the right side of the story ". For Benedetto Della Vedova," after 8 months of war there is a need, more than before, to insist on the parliamentary level in favor of Ukraine.

It is therefore essential to gather broad parliamentary consent and the new government must not fail to commit to the commitments made by the last government ". (ANSA).
