The Mobilier national has drawn on its collections to highlight orders for furniture and lighting between 1930 and 1960, a period during which France was very daring. To be discovered at Les Gobelins.

The Mobilier national has drawn on its reserves, unearthed treasures from the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s and mounted an exhibition at the Galerie des Gobelins.

"Chic!"

showcases French decorative arts and furniture, it leads from one embassy lounge to another, passing through presidential residences.

Staged by the interior decorator Vincent Darré, it plays on elegant sobriety, reconstructing rooms thanks to furniture sets that highlight exceptional lighting.

All the furniture presented has been restored, which contributes to the undeniable impression of chic that emerges.

Over the rooms unfold not only a French taste, but also the testimony of a period when the State commanded, dared and had an ambition to decorate its places of power.
