The ex-star of House of Cards was accused of sexual assault by actor Anthony Rapp, for facts which would have taken place in 1986, when the latter was only 14 years old. This Thursday, October 20, the complainant was dismissed by a New York civil court.

There was a time when the

House of Cards

superstar was the sad star of another series, which might have been titled

House of Pervs

.

Series started with an explosive first season: the fall of the powerful Harvey Weinstein in a bathrobe.

According to the following episodes, the 200 victims of the director James Toback, the heavy suspicions on the Affleck brothers, the return of Roman Polanski.

And the climax of season 2: Kevin Spacey's parachuteless jump.

It was Anthony Rapp, comedian of

Star Trek: Discovery

, who testified the first, on October 30, 2017 on the American site of Buzzfeed.

The facts date back to 1986. Anthony is 14 years old.

Obviously drunk, Kevin Spacey would have hugged him, pushed him on a bed before climbing on him.

The alleged victim had filed a complaint on September 9, 2020, with a second accuser, preferring to remain anonymous and answering to the pseudonym of CD, reported the magazine

Variety

.

After two years of legal battle against Kevin Spacey, Anthony Rapp has just been dismissed by a New York civil court.

Indeed, Thursday, October 20, the actor was found not guilty of sexual assault on his accuser, now 50 years old.

The latter claimed 40 million dollars (41 million euros) in damages.

At the time, Kevin Spacey split a message on Twitter, saying he was horrified by the facts of which he was accused.

“Honestly, I don't remember this meeting.

But if I acted as he describes it, I owe him a sincere apology for this inappropriate behavior and under the influence of alcohol.

Excuses that had not been enough to convince.

Ditto for his coming out some time later, taken as "an insult" for the gay community.

Many accusations

On November 3, 2007, Scotland Yard announced the opening of an investigation into a 2008 sexual assault in south London by a man identified by

Sky News

as Kevin Spacey.

The incident happened near the Old Vic theater, of which Spacey was the artistic director at the time.

"I saw him grope men many times (...), in his apartment in North Lambeth, at the Old Vic and in his favorite pub the Pineapple", confides then a former employee to the

Guardian

.

“Many of us have a Kevin Spacey story,” adds Roberto Cavazos, a Mexican actor who also knew Spacey during the Old Vic period, in a post published on his Facebook page.

"It was enough to be a man under 30 for Mr. Spacey to feel free to touch us", continues the comedian, affirming that "(he) would not (be) surprised if the complaints are as numerous" as those targeting Harvey Weinstein.

At the same time, eight employees of the series

House of Cards

are in league to testify on CNN of the behavior of "predator" of Kevin Spacey.

One of them, a production assistant, says that the star actor put his hand in his pants in the car, while driving him to a filming location.

He will not want to say more, for fear of being recognized.

He won't need to.

” a statement from the American video-on-demand company announced.

Netflix also indicates that it will not broadcast the film

And the famous snowball effect.

Soon, Kevin Spacey is "erased" from the cast of

All the Money in the World

, by Ridley Scott.

Deleted because the film has already been shot.

Only the scenes in which Kevin Spacey played will be shot again, with Canadian actor Christopher Plummer in plan B. Monstrous slap for one of Hollywood's most respected actors, Oscar for best actor for

"Do we really have to be happy that it didn't take ten hours for Netflix to announce the end of the series

House of Cards

and less than 24 hours at the Academy of the Emmy Awards to give up giving him a statuette of honor? ”, wonders Nicolas Bedos in a column published on the

Huff Post

, entitled “One name will be enough for me”, when the freedom of speech turns into a war of the sexes.

impending collapse

The French director may have been right.

In July 2019, the only criminal case against the actor (eventually) took a serious hit after his accuser decided not to testify again in court for fear of incriminating himself.

The accuser in question: an 18-year-old bar worker who accused the star of getting his hands on his cock after making him drink.

The young man had then, according to him, used his phone to film the attack, and then comment on it by SMS with his girlfriend at the time and a group of friends.

But this phone, which the defense wants to be able to examine, has disappeared.

Which puts the sexual assault case in question.

Numerous lawsuits have been launched against Kevin Spacey, from Nantucket to Los Angeles.

At the end of 2017, he was forced to join Harvey Weinstein at The Meadows clinic, which specializes in sex addiction and is lost in the Arizona desert.

There followed "an intensive 45-day therapy".

For now, Kevin Spacey has not been held responsible in any legal proceedings.

In question, the retractions of some, the death of three of the plaintiffs, and the recent victory of the actor in his lawsuit against Anthony Rapp.

Regarding the mysterious "CD" (who accuses him of having sexually assaulted him in his apartment when he was only 14 years old), American justice does not allow him to maintain his complaint without revealing his identity, and the therefore totally removed from the case.

There remains, in this endless affair, these accusations of sexual assault on three men between March 2005 and April 2013, which allegedly took place in London.

Again, Kevin Spacey has announced his intention to plead not guilty, during a trial which will open in July 2023.
