Actually, you don't have to introduce Doris Dörrie anymore.

The film "Men" made her famous in the eighties, many others followed, most recently "Freibad" was shown in the cinema.

She wrote screenplays and won awards.

Dörrie, born in 1955, has also published many short stories, novels and non-fiction books.

Most recently she devoted herself to her own life, with all its ups and downs, in »Live, Write, Breathe«, »The World on Your Plate« and »The Heroine Travels«.

You could read how she lay wide awake the first night after the birth of her daughter.

How, as a child, she tore a beautiful velvet skirt while fleeing a barking dog.

How she got her nose pierced with a hot needle under the influence of plenty of Bommerlunder.

With which book does she dream away from the present?

But what books does she read herself?

When she's lovesick?

Or if she wants to dream away from the present?

And has one writer particularly shaped your writing and your life?

Ask them yourself!
