Ed Sheeran: Career Goal Bond Song

Ed Sheeran is one of the great pop stars of the present day - nevertheless, the Briton has to accept disappointments from time to time: A while ago he was about to write a James Bond title song, the 31-year-old said in an interview for »That Peter Crouch Podcast«.
But then he lost the job for the title track for "No Time to Die" to US singer Billie Eilish.
By that point, the planning had obviously come a long way: "But then they changed directors and then they changed the script and that was it," Sheeran said.
Danny Boyle was originally scheduled to direct the 25th James Bond.
In 2018, however, he announced his departure due to "artistic differences" and was replaced by Cary Joji Fukunaga.
Apparently that also meant the – at least temporary – end for Sheeran.
"I won't say it didn't hurt," said the musician.
Nevertheless, he is sticking to the career goal of contributing the title song to a Bond strip again: If the Bond makers came to him again, he would say "Yes, yes, of course, yes!", says Sheeran.
