The interpreter of Draco Malfoy revealed in his memoirs, published on Tuesday, October 18, which allowed him to stay the course during the filming of the Quidditch scenes.

Balancing, perched on a Nimbus 2000, with one eye fixed on the coveted Golden Snitch, is never easy.

Tom Felton, the interpreter of Draco Malfoy in

Harry Potter

(2001), thus revealed in his memoirs

Beyond the Wand: The Magic and Mayhem of Growing Up a Wizard

, published on Tuesday October 18, the astonishing trick used by Daniel Radcliffe, the hero of the saga, to shoot his Quidditch scenes in the first films.

custom balls

During the filming of these sequences, the actors were indeed balanced on "a metal pole equipped with a very uncomfortable bicycle saddle", acting as a wizard's broom.

It was “important that all players look in the right direction for the plan,” explained Tom Felton.

These were aided by a member of the film crew, who held a tennis ball on a pole for the actors to direct their eyes towards.

Hence the need to attach "custom objects to watch" on said balls, in order to distinguish them.

“We chose photos of something or someone that was close to our hearts, continued Tom Felton.

Daniel Radcliffe had a particularly beautiful photo of Cameron Diaz.

Harry Potter's rival had meanwhile opted for a photo of "an even more beautiful carp", in a nod to his passion for fishing, as he wrote with humor.
