Ron Masak: Became known as a sitcom actor

He had his breakthrough with the series "Murder Is Her Hobby": Up until the 1990s, he appeared in more than 40 episodes as Sheriff Mort Metzger.
According to media reports, Ron Masak has died at the age of 86.
A few days earlier, the death of series colleague Angela Lansbury had become public.
Masak was born in Chaco in 1936, where he studied drama at City College.
He made his stage debut in 1954. He then became known primarily as a serial actor: in the 1960s he appeared in productions such as »The Twilight Zone« (1960), »The Monkees« (1968), »Get Smart« (1968), » Bewitching Jeannie" (1968-69) or "Bewitched" (1969-70).
In the 1970s he was mainly seen in sitcoms, including »Mary Tyler Moore« (1971) and »Love Thy Neighbor« (1973).
He also acted in about 25 films, including Ice Station Zebra (1968) and Laserkill (1978).
Masak remained active as an actor to the end, including as a supporting actor in the comedy »Angels on Tap« (2018) and in »The Curse of the Gorgon« (2020).
