The veteran musician Amir Lev will appear tomorrow (Wednesday) at the Barbie Club in Tel Aviv together with Teddy Ngosa and yes, this is not a mistake in the sentence.
The unusual combination between the two, at least on the face of it, led us to ask Lev to tell about the background of his and Teddy's relationship.
How a 60-year-old artist, musician and lyricist who broke out in the early nineties, found himself in a close and strong, almost cosmic relationship with a 27-year-old rapper, who was born when Lev's second album came out, and sang about a sense of foreignness and police violence against Ethiopians.
Both, some would say, are cultural representatives of their generation and being.
And perhaps the difference that unites them gave birth to this interesting connection.

Lev and Ngusa are rehearsing for the show,

How do your styles manage to blend?
According to him, "I think of Teddy raising himself and slowly realizing that he has received a gift - his thoughts and the way he writes them move people. The music moves but inside it are Teddy's thoughts, which enter people's hearts. They move because it seems they have always been there , and it's only Teddy who came and said them now.
"He is young and pure, does not refer to the cameras and does not read comments at night. We weave our songs into each other as if we are corresponding, and each remains who he is and smiles in understanding when he hears the other's answer. The last time we met, after a funny conversation between the two of us, he He said we should record it."
The age gap between you is significant and it seems that after all there are experiences in your life that touch.
"When I find myself in a close conversation with someone, it takes me some time to ignore or forget that 33 years separate us. It doesn't stop me from listening or learning or being fascinated. But even the mere fact that I've experienced 33 more winters than him makes some difference between us. A person who saw Another 1,500 sunsets is already someone else.
"We have already sat twice, Teddy Ngusa and I, at his house and I didn't feel the time pass. The first time we moved from the living room to the balcony, the second time we went straight to the balcony. This is the second time in my life that I meet a musician and I feel that he is enlightened (Hamsa). We talked without explaining. As if it It's clear that the other one knows and saw and felt.
