In the UK, a radio presenter has died during a live broadcast.

Tim Gough was presenting the breakfast program for GenX Radio Suffolk on Monday when the 55-year-old appeared to have suffered a heart attack, the BBC reported, among others.

Gough reportedly died around 7:50 a.m.

He worked from home, broadcast from his garden studio in Lackford.

When a song broke off, Gough couldn't be heard and the station was still silent minutes later, the moderator's boss, James Hazell, alerted the emergency services.

Shortly before eleven o'clock on Monday morning, Hazell shared the sad news with the audience, according to "Stern": "At that point I really have no words, he was 55 years old and perfectly healthy." He had known Gough for more than 30 years – when a "warm, caring and funny person," Hazell told the BBC.

"We are heartbroken by this news."

GenX Radio Suffolk wrote on Instagram after the presenter's death: 'Tim did what he loved.

He was 55 years old.

Rest in peace."

Gough's radio career began at Radio Orwell in Ipswich in 1986, according to the BBC.

He later worked for Trent FM, Leicester Sound, Saga Radio and Smooth Radio, among others.

After a hiatus of more than a decade, Gough has returned to the mic for the morning show, Hazell said.
