The Netflix series "Snabba Cash" is based on the book by Jens Lapidus.

Now there is the second season.

But there is no way around the books.

This changes nothing for you.

It has been more than ten years since the first film adaptation of Jens Lapidus's Stockholm Noir books was released in cinemas under the title "Easy Money" starring Joel Kinnaman.

The streaming provider Netflix recently rolled out the second season of the series “Snabba Cash” (quick money) in Germany.

One more reason to read the books of Lapidus.

As a criminal defense lawyer, Jens Lapidus has a great deal of insight into the Swedish legal world, similar to John Grisham, who was able to use a great deal of material for his books through his work as a lawyer.

Lapidus books are not books that you can just read on the side so quickly.

Not only the number of pages, averaging around 600 pages, but also the topics have to be processed first.

His writing style is pictorial.

As soon as I read it, I thought it would do well as a film.

This was before the film adaptation of "Easy Money" for the cinema.

The Netflix series is based on the book by Jens Lapidus, but begins ten years after the event.

In order to be able to understand the plot a little better and to outline the prehistory, thriller fans should definitely read the books.

Jens Lapidus "Feel the Fear"

A man wants to go upstairs.

To the very top.

Johan Westlund aka JW wants to keep up with his new friends.

With the cool upper-class boys, for whom things are only going up and whose life is one big party - full of alcohol, drugs, designer clothes and expensive women.

In order to be able to afford the nights with them, JW works as a taxi driver for the obscure Abdulkarim on the other nights.

His boss makes JW an offer he can't refuse: dark dealings in Stockholm's underworld.

Maybe only here, on the night side of town, can he succeed with another quest.

JW wants to find his sister who went to Stockholm four years ago.

Looking for a better life, like her brother.

Then she met this guy with the yellow Ferrari - and has since disappeared without a trace...

Jens Lapidus "Get it done"

Mahmud, a careless drug dealer, Thomas, a stumbled police officer and Niklas, a former mercenary in Iraq, cross paths due to a brutal murder that is supposed to be covered up by the highest levels of government.

Everyone tries in their own way to come to terms with this life, because the border between good and evil has long since disappeared.

And there is one who pulls the strings: Radovan Kranjic, the great godfather of the underworld.

All three thrillers that provide the basis for "Snabba Cash" on Netflix are suspense-packed books that not only fans of Stieg Larsson should read.

Even if the thrillers offer a stage for a lot of characters and you have to stay on the ball to follow the narrative thread, they offer a solid entry into the series to be able to enjoy "Quick Money".
