In the past, Taylor Swift has been open about her own experiences with eating disorders and dieting.
In her documentary »Miss Americana« from 2020, for example, she explains that in the past she »starved« in order to conform to a supposed ideal of beauty.
The singer's latest album »Midnights« has now been released. Swift has released a music video for the single »Anti-Hero«, which she also directed and wrote the screenplay for. This video is now such a lively one Debate erupted that Swift apparently felt compelled to recut a scene.
In the original version, Swift climbs onto a bathroom scale in one scene, and shortly thereafter the word "Fat" is written on it.
A second version of Swift, also played by her, shakes her head in disapproval.
Meanwhile, the word "Fat" is no longer found in the versions of the video on the major platforms.
Critics had previously complained that Swift's scene fueled the stereotype that being overweight has a negative connotation.
Nutritional therapist Shira Rosenbluth wrote on Twitter that the clip "repeat once again that looking like us is everyone's worst nightmare."
In a video ahead of the album and video release, Swift said of "Anti-Hero," "I don't think I've ever delved into my own insecurities in such detail." that I hate about me«.
So far, Swift has not commented on the criticism and the change that has now been made to the clip.
With "Midnights", the singer briefly paralyzed the streaming service Spotify for the release a week ago.
24 hours later, the album broke the first record: It is the most streamed album in one day in Spotify history.
"And before the clock struck midnight on October 22nd, Taylor Swift broke the record for the most-streamed album in a single day in Spotify history," the streaming service announced on Twitter.

»Midnights« was also very well received by the music critics.
