(ANSA) - ROME, OCTOBER 29 - The Royal Navy has ordered an investigation into alleged allegations of bullying and sexual harassment against some military personnel on board submarines.

The BBC reports, citing the testimonies entrusted by several women who have served in the fleet at the Daily Mail.

Admiral Sir Ben Key called the claims "repugnant", adding that "sexual harassment has not posed in the Royal Navy and will not be tolerated".

Anyone found guilty will be held accountable, "he said.

Among the facts revealed in detail by the Mail, lists compiled by male crew members establishing the order in which women would be raped in the event of the submarine sinking.

A woman told the Mail that she was sexually assaulted by a senior man while she was sleeping, and that, on another occasion, she was punched in the kidney by a senior officer.

Another said a fellow soldier would leave photos of naked models and coins in her cabin, suggesting that she expect a sexual act in return.

Still others reported requests for sexual acts, screams, or being subjected to throwing notes or pens.

The abuses have been going on for more than a decade, practically since, in 2011, women were admitted to the Marina.
