Damascus University and the Ebdaa Microfinance Bank signed today an agreement for joint cooperation in the fields of research, training, development and dissemination of knowledge, which contributes to achieving integration between the scientific and practical fields.

Under the agreement, the two sides will cooperate in the field of training graduates of technical institutes affiliated with the University of Damascus, as well as graduates of the corresponding colleges and those wishing to enter the labor market, and provide them with experience related to the financial aspect, in addition to providing the necessary funding for these graduates, and those wishing from the labor market, the trainees who were selected according to specific criteria, Choosing at least two students every three months from the technical institutes at Damascus University to train them at the headquarters of the Ebdaa Bank for Microfinance, and providing the bank with copies of the graduation projects of students of technical institutes.

Under the agreement, the Creativity Bank, in cooperation with the technical institutes, provides data on graduation projects, and finances a number of these projects in line with the project's needs. Other parties related to the implementation of all these activities in accordance with Law No. 25 of 2022, which enables technical institutes to work as production centers, while the agreement remains valid for two years and can be renewed for a similar period.

In a statement to the media after the signing, Dr. Ghazwan Ali, director of the technical institutes at Damascus University, pointed to the importance of the agreement as a step in making the technical institutes productive, and helping their graduates to enter the labor market by refining their skills with appropriate training, and supporting their projects with the necessary funding, indicating that there are 16 technical institutes affiliated with For the University of Damascus, and the agreement will be applied to the four agricultural institutes first, and then to the engineering institutes.

CEO of Ebdaa Bank for Microfinance, Adib Sharaf, explained that the goal of the agreement is to support the segment of students and recent graduates and help them establish their future projects, by providing them with the necessary funding and support in terms of training and studies, in line with the bank’s developmental objective and spreading the culture of microfinance in society and among young people to enable them From starting their projects capable of improving the standard of living and creating job opportunities for themselves and others, indicating that the Bank offers a variety of loans on easy terms to owners of small and micro enterprises and entrepreneurs in various fields “agricultural, industrial, service and commercial”, in addition to loan products targeting students at all stages. .
