"Vitico Petróleo" - this is how this flamingo was christened by Venezuelan environmentalists who found it on the shore of Lake Maracaibo.
His last name refers to the oil that is extracted from the inland sea in the northwest of the country, which kills numerous animals.
The rescue of Vitico, which a fisherman found, also failed: he died while trying to clean it.
The environmentalists and local authorities appealed to the state oil company PDVSA to clean up pollution on the lake's beaches.

Two employees of the London auction house Christie's present the painting »Cloud Study (green-blue)« by Gerhard Richter.
Painted by the German artist in 1971, it is part of a whole series of cloud depictions that Richter was working on at the time.

Ivan Junaedi's children visit his grave.
After the first division game between Arema FC and Persebaya FC in the Indonesian city of Malang, riots broke out on Saturday evening. 3,000 spectators stormed the stadium square and the police used tear gas.
A stampede ensued, at least 125 people were killed.
Junaedi was one of them.
The disaster is now to be investigated by a team of experts.
