For the USA, Paramount announced the sequel to "Star Trek: Picard" months ago: From February 16, 2023, the third and final season will be shown there.

Meanwhile, Amazon has been quiet for a long time.

It is now certain: In Germany, the sci-fi series will start one day later, on February 17, 2023. As the Amazon streaming service Prime Video announced, one episode of the ten-part season will be released each week.

The season should be interesting for "Star Trek" fans because there will be a reunion with some well-known characters.

In the first two seasons, Patrick Stewart flew through space as Jean-Luc Picard with a new crew.

In the last season, numerous leading actors from »Next Generation« play a leading role.

Prime Video announced appearances from LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Jonathan Frakes, Gates McFadden, Marina Sirtis, Brent Spiner, Jeri Ryan and Michelle Hurd.

In the final season, Tony Award-winner Amanda Plummer plays the character Vadic, a mysterious alien captain of the Shrike.

The »Shrike« is a warship that targets Jean-Luc Picard and his old crew members from the Enterprise.

Also starring is Daniel Davis, best known for playing the butler Niles on the 1990s sitcom The Nanny.

He will reprise the role of Professor Moriarty from Star Trek: The Next Generation.
