The haircut, beard and glasses can help to highlight the face in the best possible way: the important thing is to choose them carefully and according to your facial shape.

With the aim of helping men choose the grooming look and glasses that best suit their face shape, Simone Forini and Arcangelo Petrillo, the Master Barbers of Barberino's and Fabbricatorino, a historic brand for Italian eyewear, in collaboration with Elisa Negro, Image Coach & Style Consultant, have drawn

up the vademecum to choose the most suitable cuts and frames for each facial shape

.

Inverted triangle or heart face

The reverse triangle face is a face that has a greater width in the forehead area and then tapers towards the chin;

in the case of a "V" hairline, it is also referred to as a "heart" shape.

The advice on frames: for greater balance, it is better to opt for round glasses or glasses with soft lines and proportionate to the size of your forehead, so as to lighten the upper part of the face.

The beauty tip: from the most natural cuts to the more structured ones, the important thing is to give volume to the top of the head, keeping shorter lengths on the sides.

As for the beard, however, a style that suits faces of this type is the so-called full beard or “hipster beard”, halfway between a well-groomed beard and an unkempt one.

Alternatively, for those who prefer a tidy look,

Round face

In a round face there is no angularity and the length of the face is equal to the width of the cheekbones, while the width of the forehead is equal to that of the jaw.

The optician's advice: in this case, to harmonize the face, it is better to focus on frames that are slightly elongated outwards or square, so as to streamline the rounded structure.

In the case of sunglasses, you can take advantage not only of the frame, but also the color of the lenses, focusing on shaded solutions that help to elongate the face.

The barber advice: perfect to give more character to this face is a short cut on the sides and more voluminous in the upper part, perhaps with the help of a tuft;

to avoid obtaining a flattened effect, it is important that the tuft does not fall on the face, because it could shorten it further.

Face oval and elongated oval

The oval face is the most proportionate and balanced: the width of the cheekbones is equal to that of the forehead and the jaw is not particularly pronounced.

This facial shape, therefore, does not require specific precautions to be enhanced and allows you to indulge yourself in terms of style.

Slightly different, however, the oval and elongated face, where the face is thinner, with a greater extension in terms of verticality and with cheeks and cheekbones not rounded.

The advice for glasses: if in the case of the first face they give almost all the frames, for the second it is better to opt for glasses with softening shapes, especially the lower sides, avoiding instead the models with the square upper section and bridges with a clean cut.

Barber's advice:

the oval face is the most versatile in terms of look and therefore you can focus, depending on your style or tastes, both on a cut that creates more volume on the sides of the head and on a more classic style with side parting and hair very short or shaved at the sides to accentuate the shape.

In the case of the beard, however, the ideal is a full and well-defined solution, such as the ducktail beard, which however must be treated with precision.

Finally, for a more classic style, you can opt for the corporate beard.

which, however, must be taken care of with precision.

Triangle and square face

The triangular and square faces are faces with very pronounced mandibular definition and, in the case of the former, with slightly narrower temples than the lower section.

The optician's advice: in both cases, the goal is to soften the features through rounded shapes and balance the jaw with strategic volumes and fillers in the forehead section.

For the square face, in particular, an oval or round frame is recommended.

Beauty advice: with such a well-defined face it is advisable to move towards cuts that are not too showy, preferring instead more linear looks that enhance the decisive features.

Therefore, very short or shaved cuts are perfect, but also medium lengths with a side tuft on the forehead;

the asymmetry in this case is undoubtedly well received, because it helps to give character.

Finally, on this type of well-defined face, the Hollywood beard looks very good, very similar to the corporate but more defined.

For an added style you can also shape the lower part by giving it a pointed shape with scissors.

Diamond face

The diamond face is a face with a rather narrow forehead and chin and high and pronounced cheekbones;

in fact, it recalls the characteristics of the rhomboid shapes.

This facial shape can also appear as an extremely proportionate oval, but with particularly prominent cheekbones.

The advice for the frame: the diamond face is enhanced by lines that reflect the shape of the cheekbones.

The barber's advice: with such marked features, the face requires a cut that emphasizes the features and enhances the whole, green light therefore to cuts that give width to the forehead and chin, even with fringes and tufts that fall on the forehead .

Instead, it is better to avoid short cuts on the sides because they could make the ears appear excessively large.

A particular beard such as the French fork beard is suitable for a particular face, which helps to soften the shapes.

An equally valid alternative is the Van Dyke, which helps to convey a strong image, focusing on originality.
