The German government has recalled Angela Merkel for the too high expenses of her office in the Bundestag, attributed to her as former chancellor at the end of her term last year.
This was announced by Spiegel who cited a report by the Ministry of Finance to the budget committee of the German parliament, according to which the recall would also concern the number of employees in the office, currently nine out of the four planned.
According to Spiegel, Merkel would also have been pointed out that her office is intended only to "fulfill post-official obligations" and that it is instead "excluded from being used for private purposes or to generate additional income" to those owed to a former chancellor. .
His travel expenses have also ended up in the sights of the Ministry of Finance, the reimbursement of which - it has been specified - is taken into consideration only if the former head of government travels "on behalf and in the interest of the Federal Republic of Germany".
