(ANSA) - ROME, 07 NOV - It will cost the equivalent of 50 cents a year per person for the next 5 years to reach all the inhabitants of the Earth with timely alarms against extreme weather events, but it will reduce damage by 30%.
The "First Alarm for All" project, prepared by the World Meteorological Organization and other partners, was presented by the UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, at Cop27 in Sharmel-Sheikh.
The project, which requires an investment of 3.1 billion dollars between 2023 and 2027, already has the support of 50 states and looks at the climatic consequences: storms, heat waves, floods and droughts.
