The pitch?

Nathalie Weber (Audrey Fleurot) is an author at a loss for inspiration who wakes up on Christmas morning with the heavy impression that when her daughter Alice (Lily Taïeb) was adopted fifteen years ago, something happened to her. followed home.

While her husband is away (Cédric Kahn) and he is unreachable, she finds herself in her isolated chalet, frightened by strange noises, anonymous calls and videos, one-on-one with her troubled teenager by his disturbing behavior.

Meeting with a true heroine.

Madame Figaro.-

What made you want to play in

Esprit d'hiver

?

Audrey Fleurot.

-

I really like the work of director Cyril Mennegun and I was happy to work for Arte, which supports fictions of the genre, like

Esprit d'hiver

.

I am, moreover, quite fond of genre (which we see little in France) and I always try to go towards things that I have not done before.

So I found it interesting to go into this area that I don't necessarily control, with a female character all cracked, all in fragility and madness.

As an actress, it was part of my fantasies to do this kind of film because I felt it was a different place in terms of acting.

How did you slip into the skin of this heroine?

By stages.

It was for me to work on letting go and being usually a very strong-willed person who makes a lot of proposals, I tried there to be taken by the hand.

It took me quite a few years to agree to tell myself that the most interesting was not always what we produce but often what escapes us.

To achieve this, you have to put yourself in a situation where you let things slip away and as far as I'm concerned, that goes a lot through deconcentration.

I accepted on set that I didn't always know where I was going and that I wasn't in control because I felt it was for the benefit of the film.

Thrills

Are you cowardly in life?

Yes, but at the same time I like to scare myself too.

For example, I'm going to get on the ghost train knowing that I hate it.

I really have a rather childish attraction-repulsion relationship with fear.

But personally, I wouldn't live in the

Esprit d'hiver

house , perched on top of the mountain and completely inaccessible.

Withdrawn into her family unit, the life of the heroine that I play is very distressing, almost unhealthy, and there is indeed enough to freak out...!

Where do you feel best?

I'm lucky to have a house in the countryside, in Normandy, and it's really a cocoon where I would like to spend more time.

But for once, it's located in a village with lots of people around so I'm not at all lonely there.

The production

What adaptation would you dream of seeing on screen?

Now wanting to be at the origin of projects, I get into production and start asking myself these kinds of questions.

Without being able to reveal anything yet, I think I'm likely to do things with as much difference as possible because I have very eclectic tastes.

I intend to function as I do in my acting profession, that is to say that I have played in private and subsidized theaters, I have filmed for television, cinema, doing comedy, drama, genre, era… I've always tried to cover my tracks by doing very different things because it suits my tastes and the important thing is to tell stories that interest me.

Is there a genre not represented enough in your opinion?

I think things are quite cyclical and there are fads.

When a genre has not been seen for a long time, it is reinvented.

This is how science fiction has been completely brought up to date when it had fallen into disuse, just like the thriller which was super strong in France in the 80s and 90s and which is reborn today today.

So there may not be room for all genres all the time but things eventually come back one way or another.

What are your future projects?

I am currently filming the

Infiltré(e)

series for France 2 with the pillars of the

French Village

.

I'm happy to reunite with this loving family and it's a thriller about a female chemist who finds herself infiltrating a synthetic drug cartel.

I thought it was great to discover yet another new universe and then I continued with the third season of

HPI

.

Morgane, my character, finds herself in a precarious situation.

She cleans private homes after giving up her job at the DIPJ.

But we suspect that she will not be content to be a cleaning lady and that she will get back on her feet and that this will obviously cause her problems.

HPI

US version

What do you know of the American adaptation of

HPI

?

Not much… I think that when the Americans embark on an adaptation, sometimes there isn't much left of the initial project, but we are obviously very proud and I'm curious to see the result.

Even if personally, I would have preferred them to buy the original version!

Who do you imagine in the role of Morgane?

I do not have the faintest idea.

I want to be surprised and the United States does not lack good actors so in my opinion, it will be very successful.
