When Joey from Friends, the guy who would never share food, took on the challenge of eating a whole turkey on Thanksgiving, even he admitted it was a nearly impossible task.

Alexander Tominsky took on a similar challenge to eat a whole grilled chicken every day for 40 days in a row - and although the chicken served to him on his plate was much smaller than Monica's, he said that what started as a simple and delicious challenge turned into a nightmare and endless suffering.

Although he met the challenge with dignity, he admits that he will never play with food again.

Yes, even if you think it's simple to eat grilled chicken - try eating the same dish for 40 days and see how you feel.

31-year-old Alexander from Philadelphia has gained almost 40,000 new followers since he started his challenge - even though it all started offline.

It was locals who were exposed to his challenge through flyers he hung on the trees that made it viral.

He ended the tough challenge at an event with a red carpet and 500 spectators who cheered him from the sidelines for every bite.

The challenge made him a local icon and earned him the name "Rotisserie Chicken Guy".

In an interview with VICE, he told where the idea came to him and how he dealt with it.

"It started when I ate chicken at lunch and it felt good and right. I decided to continue eating chicken, for me. At first I recorded my meals for myself, not to share with others, but there was something so powerful about it that I decided to start sharing it with the world," said Alexander To VICE, "I think grilled chicken is the purest form of chicken, isn't it? It's just cooked."

With success came health problems

About the viral success, Alexander said: "It just drove the world crazy. People liked that I was doing it to prove something to myself and not to be famous. People like chicken so I guess they could sympathize with me. It didn't hurt anyone but me. On the other hand, there were people who enjoyed watching me suffer."

Why did he suffer?

Alexander said that the challenge became more difficult day by day: "There was damage to my body. I suffered from constant contractions and my stomach was swollen. I could really feel my pulse - like when you run and you feel the pulse of your heart, it's like my stomach was beating all the time. I also went down About 6-7 kilos, which is a weight I shouldn't have lost."

He added: "At the beginning of the challenge I would finish a whole chicken in 20 minutes. After that it took about two hours for a meal, but at the final event it took me an hour. I just wanted it to be over already and I'm glad it's over."

Alexander became popular mainly with women who would surely be upset to hear that he was busy: "I am happily married. She is a veteran artist and a professor at one of the colleges in Philadelphia. My family was confused at first by the challenge I took on myself. Some of them worried about me, but in the end they also fell for it." .

He told about the last chicken in his challenge: "At first I ate chicken at the restaurant where I work and it was convenient, but towards the end I realized it was special and I wanted to make sure there was a place big enough to accommodate a large crowd that would come to be present at the end of my challenge. I hung about 60 flyers on trees And people claim that 500 people came to see me eat my last chicken. That's another thing I really liked about this story. It started with a physical flyer and that was the only advertisement I did for it. Instead of seeing something online, like a Facebook event, it was a classic flyer that pulled People. Later the challenge gained momentum on Twitter and a lot of people were interested, from sports fans and people who like to eat - to people who like to see others suffer. I will never play with food again, that's for sure. From now on I eat to live."
