On November 7, 2022, the United Nations proclaimed November 18 as World Day for the Prevention and Healing from Child Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Violence, through a resolution supported by Sierra Leone and Nigeria and then co-supported by 110 other countries .
Telefono Azzurro therefore joins the
international day established by the United Nations
to raise awareness of this increasingly urgent issue.
The conference, entitled
"The strength of the network: the multidisciplinary approach as a tool to combat sexual abuse"
will have as its central focus that of sensitizing all the institutions and stakeholders involved in the protection of children and adolescents on the importance of create a network of trust around them, to guarantee all children and adolescents the protection they deserve.
The two moments, morning and afternoon, although separate, are united by a thematic common thread, which starts from a more national and institutional approach to addressing the issue on an international scale as well.
The academic, institutional and social world will be involved in this discussion to discuss the importance of listening to victims by all the actors involved in the protection of the youngest.
With the victim's perspective being the central element of the entire conference, the ultimate goal is to reflect on how to better build a secure network system, in collaboration with different stakeholders, both national and international.
The implementation of concrete structures that allow children to fully enjoy their circle of trust can be achieved by, on the one hand, carefully listening to their needs and, on the other hand, providing them with the necessary tools to safely enjoy the circle of trust in which they have a role.
