1,245 male and female students from different governorates participated in the tests of the second phase of the new season of the Syrian Science Olympiad 2023 in the specializations of “mathematics, physics, chemistry, informatics and biology.”

The tests held by the Excellence and Creativity Authority at the same time and over a period of two and a half hours in various governorates included all students who qualified from the first stage exams from the students of the first secondary grade and the first young Olympians from the seventh and eighth grades of basic education, where the question forms were developed by the central scientific committees in the administration The Syrian Scientific Olympiad, and the answer sheets will be corrected in an automated and centralized manner, so that the results will be issued at the end of this month.

Sana kept pace with the tests and monitored the atmosphere of competition. At the Faculty of Law at the University of Damascus, Eng. Lynn Qassem, Director of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad at the Excellence and Creativity Authority, stated that the first fifty students in each major who succeeded in this stage will qualify for the final qualifiers that will be held centrally in Damascus during the midterm vacation, and the winners will receive With the best 15 centers in each specialty, they are honored to be members of the national team for the scientific subject in which they excelled.

Among the students’ families, Dr. Maha Yassin said: her daughter participates in the specialty of physics and saw that the Olympiad is an activity that motivates students to take an interest in science, study, culture and scientific research, while Youssef Barq said: His daughter participates in the mathematics major based on her desire and love for this subject, and considered that the Olympiad develops The student has the mathematical queen, develops his talent in the future and achieves his ambition, while Sonia Mustafa indicated that her daughter is one of the first in the Youth Olympiad, and pointed out that the Olympiad is an enjoyable scientific experience that strengthens the student's personality and increases his scientific knowledge.

Each of the participating students, Ahmed Arabish, Hala Kor, Samar Al-Fayoumi, and Omar Muhammad Kulthum, saw that the level of questions was high and far from the traditional pattern, and required intelligence and special analytical capabilities, while Bashar Ozon, Noura Qassem, Karim Ayyash, Hussam Al-Din Nasser and Adnan Mardini expressed their hope to reach a level. The final stage, winning the national team membership.

The competitions of the new season of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad were launched on the twenty-second of last October, with the participation of 6,800 male and female students from the first secondary grade, and from the seventh and eighth grades of the first Young Olympiads for Mathematics and Science from various governorates.
