(ANSA) - VATICAN CITY, NOVEMBER 25 - The Pope has written a letter to the Ukrainian people nine months after the outbreak of war.
"I would like to unite my tears with yours and tell you that there is not a day in which I am not close to you and I do not carry you in my heart and in my prayers. Your pain is my pain", writes Pope Francis.
After numerous public appeals for an end to the war, a hundred since the beginning of the war, the Pope is now addressing the Ukrainian people directly with a letter.
"In the cross of Jesus today I see you, you who suffer the terror unleashed by this aggression", the Pope continues, referring to the attack on Russia.
The Pontiff recalls the "bloody images that have entered our souls, which raise a cry:
because?
How can men treat other men like this?" (ANSA).
