(ANSA) - KIEV, NOVEMBER 25 - "More than six million" families in Ukraine were affected by power outages today, two days after massive Russian attacks on the country.
This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky in his evening speech.
"Tonight blackouts continue in most regions and in Kiev. More than six million households in total," said the Ukrainian leader.
President Volodymyr Zelensky said that since November 23, the number of users affected by power outages in Ukraine has halved, from 12 million on Wednesday - when Russia's latest massive attack on energy infrastructure occurred - to six million today.
"From Wednesday to today, we managed to halve the number of people whose electricity is cut off to stabilize the system. As of this evening, blackouts continue in most regions and in Kiev. More than 6 million users in total. Almost 12 millions of users were logged out on Wednesday night,” Zelensky said in his evening speech, quoted by Ukrainska Pravda.
According to the Ukrainian president, most of the problems are now concentrated in the capital, as well as in the Kiev, Odessa, Lvov, Vinnitsa and Dnepropetrovsk regions.
Since the evening of November 25, 600,000 users have experienced power outages in Kiev, and many citizens have been without electricity for more than 20 or even 30 hours.
