Her documentary series explores issues of sexuality and gender. For her first part, broadcast on December 1 on the BBC, the model has made it her mission to understand the pleasure gap between the sexes.

Cara Delevingne pushed the idea to the end.

In the first episode of her documentary series

Planet Sex

, broadcast on Thursday December 1 on the BBC3 channel from 10 p.m., the 30-year-old model chose to explore the "orgasmic gender gap", or the differences between the female and male pleasure.

Several studies have indeed repeatedly demonstrated that men were quicker to orgasm during sexual intercourse.

In 2017, the scientific journal

Archives of Sexual Behavior

claimed that only 65% of women reach "the little death" during a relationship compared to 95% for men.

role of guinea pig

Faced with this observation, Cara Delevingne thus relied on science.

The

Daily Mail

reports that in this first installment, soon to be available on the American platform Hulu, the top has agreed to be the guinea pig of an experiment to better understand the mechanisms of her own female pleasure.

To do this, she gave researchers a sample of her blood before and after a masturbation session.

The experiment here aims to measure the levels of endocannabinoids, molecules secreted by the human body, at two distinct times.

These molecules are activated when we smoke cannabis.

They are known to reduce anxiety, increase euphoria and boost libido.

In video, Cara Delevingne opens her doors to the magazine Architectural Digest

"I'm here to have an orgasm and donate it to science," she told viewers during the episode, outside a hospital in Germany.

I think female sexual desire has definitely been suppressed.

Yet I know from experience that women can be very sexual.

So, it's time, in the 21st century, for men and women to have equally satisfying sex lives, right?

Porn and monogamy

The latter also gave some clues about the next themes that will be discussed during the other episodes of

Planet Sex

, six in total.

Among them, gender issues, pornography or monogamy.

Each time, the queer actress will lend herself to the game, multiplying encounters and experiences.

"I learned a lot of things," she enthused last October during a presentation in Cannes.

With this program, she wants to "open the dialogue" and bring together as many people as possible around this subject which she describes as "one of the most fascinating in the world".

And to add: "Let's not talk about the rain and the good weather or what we're going to do on the weekend, let's talk about sex".
