She is the darling that Tout-Paris has been tearing up since she played the formidable Sylvie Grateau in the eyes of the world in the Netflix series

, almost eclipsing the heroine of the show Lily Collins.
Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu is however far from being a novice in the profession.
The 59-year-old actress, daughter of comedian Philippe Leroy, has been on film sets for nearly four decades, with a leading role in Roger Vadim's
Surprise Party
in 1983.

Nine months
, excerpt
We are in 1994 when this popular little comedy comes out in theaters.
Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu plays Mathilde, the companion of Samuel (Braoudé), a Parisian psychoanalyst to whom she announces her pregnancy.
But the latter will very badly support the prospect of a future paternity.
Having left for the weekend in the countryside, the couple strike up a friendship with Dominique (Catherine Jacob) and her husband Georges (Daniel Russo), who are on their fourth child and openly rejoice.
Completely distressed, Samuel experiences his wife's nine months of pregnancy as an ordeal, and puts all his energy into convincing her to have an abortion, when she wants to keep the child...
The idea for the film was born in the mind of Patrick Braoudé when his wife Giulia became pregnant, which pushed him to decipher his own anxieties as a future dad.
A meeting with actor Daniel Russo, who has just had his second child, confirms his feeling: men also go through hardships during the pregnancy of their wives.
The two friends then get down to writing the film, which Braoudé will dedicate to his wife.
A screenplay written in three months, just in time before she gives birth.

Filming for
Nine Months
only lasted five weeks.
The film, which is full of gags, starts out as a comedy of manners and quickly turns into a farce with a succession of sketches and explosive characters (including a Pascal Légitimus in Olympic form).
The film received good critical and public success, since it approached one million spectators in France, while Catherine Jacob and Daniel Russo were both nominated at the César ceremony in 1995 as best supporting actors.
The film will also be adapted the following year in an American remake called
Nine Months
(
Nine months too
, for the French version
)
with Hugh Grant, Julianne Moore and Robin Williams.
Directed by Chris Colombus (
Mom I missed the plane
), it is produced by Patrick Braoudé and Christophe Lambert.
But this remake will not experience the same critical success, even if it nevertheless achieves an honorable score at the box office.
