"

I have received a donation from Fight Impunity,

for a total amount of less than 50,000 euros

", money "in the form of a donation to reimburse some costs of my campaign for the Congress of the ITUC (International Confederation of Trade Unions), and in cash in the form of donation which I transferred as such to the ITUC Solidarity Fund, to support the costs of travel to Congress for trade unions".

Luca Visentini, involved in Qatargate, writes it in a note released today.

"

I have not been asked, nor have I asked for anything in return for the money

and no conditions of any kind have been placed on this donation."

 "

My position towards Qatar,

as declared to the media at the end of my visit to this country, has not changed over time and speaks for itself, as I have always publicly clarified that today's situation is not yet satisfactory and that it is necessary to exercise further pressure on Qatar and on companies operating in the country to obtain full protection of human and workers' rights, full compliance with all ILO Conventions and full implementation of the reforms implemented so far, also in terms of reparation for existing violations and compensation for victims of violations and their families".

Luca Visintini, involved in Qatargate, writes it in a note.

"I was also very clear in my statement that the pressure on Qatar must continue even after the conclusion of the World Cup," he added.

The trade unionist then describes the restrictions he is subject to as a result of his involvement in the investigation.

After being questioned he "gave a full explanation to the magistrate and I was released without formal charges on Sunday 11 December".

Visentini cannot come into contact with the other people who are part of the investigation, and he must be authorized by the magistrate to travel outside the Union.

Conditions that will apply for three months, until 11 March 2023, and can be renewed once if the magistrate deems it necessary.

It will remain "part of this investigation until the final results of the investigation are submitted to the Chambre du Conseil (court of first instance) for a decision."
