(ANSA) - ROME, DECEMBER 26 - AVATAR - THE WATERWAYS by James Cameron with collections from December 22 to 25 of 4 million 331 thousand euros and a total of 17 million 325 thousand, leads the box office in Italian theaters for the second week from 22 to 25 December.

In 4 days the Disney film lost 49% but a progression like that of the days of its debut was unthinkable.

   Space in the second and third position for two awaited Italian films.

THE BIG DAY by Aldo Giovanni e Giacomo went big with 1 million 259 thousand euros, distributed flat by Medusa on 547 screens, more or less the same as the sequel to Avatar.

At a distance but still on the podium in third placeAlessandro Borghi and Luca Marinelli on the peaks of Valled'Aosta: LE OTTO MONTAGNE in its first 4 days grossed 446 thousand euros;

the film distributed by Vision/Universal surpassed the debut of THE FABELMANS by Steven Spielberg (01Distribution) with 309,000 euros, placing it in fourth place.

   After this top seed, the other titles: PUSS IN BOOTS 2 (Universal) which in the third week is fifth with around 273 thousand euros for a total at the moment of 2 million872 thousand;

the Whitney Houston biopic WHITNEY (Warner Bros) with €180,000;

at seventh MASQUERADE - LADRI D'AMORE (Lucky Red) with 42 thousand;

STRANEZZA even from 10th place goes back to eighth and in the ninth week it resists in the top ten with around 23 thousand which bring the total of the film Medusa to 5 million 423 thousand;

in the ninth position ERNEST ECELESTINE - THE ADVENTURE OF THE 7 NOTES (I Wonder) with 22,185 thousand euros, while in the tenth position there is STRANGE WORLD - A MYSTERIOUS WORLD (Walt Disney) which in the fifth week of release adds 18 thousand euros for a total of 1,453,522 .

   The total takings, according to Cinetel data, of four days of 'celebration' from 22 to 25 December is 7 million 121 thousand euros which are 10% more than the horrible Christmas of the cinemas of 2021 in which 6,424,882 had been collected since 23 to 26.

   It should be noted that 26 December is still missing: the day when in a glorious time the halls were crowded and therefore a balance sheet for the holidays is not complete, one can only note the positive sign and already this it is a desperation trend.
