The mobilization continues against life imprisonment and the harsh prison of 41bis to which the anarchist Alfredo Cospito is subjected for four years, the prisoner on hunger strike for over 60 days in the prison of Sassari where he is in solitary confinement, after a twenty-year sentence in the first instance for a series of attacks claimed between 2003 and 2016, including the shooting in the legs of Roberto Adinolfi, manager of Ansaldo, in 2012 in Genoa.
Initiatives in favor of Cospito are multiplying - such as the oratory marathon broadcast in streaming on Radical Radio - after the suspension of the second degree trial, in which the leader of the informal anarchist federation (Fai) risks life imprisonment for sending deeds to the Consulta which must decide on extenuating circumstances that could prevent him from ever being sentenced.
Cospito is the first anarchist to whom the hard prison regime is applied and to draw attention to his case, and in general to the application of the 41bis and the life sentence which according to many are in contrast with the Constitution and the principle of punishment rehabilitation.
The Hands Off Cain association has launched a mobilization with a relay hunger strike in addition to the oratory marathon organized by human rights activists Delfina Unno Pastalunghi and Umberto Baccolo.
The participation in these initiatives is transversal, including that of Luigi Manconi, many criminal lawyers such as Caterina Calia and Carlo Taormina, university professors and law scholars, prison operators and ex-convicts.
Giuliano Castellino, a Roman neo-fascist joined by multiple security measures for having participated in violence during no-vax rallies and in the assault on the CGIL, also joined the relay hunger strike.
