Three decades have passed since Sharon Haziz released the hit "Take me there" • After conquering the theater in the musical "Mama Mia!", she is now releasing "Sharath'' Alone" which she wrote with Guy Vihel, and shares: "I feel much more liberated today"

Three decades have passed since she broke out with her first hit "Take Me There", and today Sharon Haziz is releasing the song "Sheret Alone" - ahead of a celebratory performance that will be held at the end of the month to mark the 30th anniversary of her debut album.

"30 years is a short time. To all the young people - know that it really flies," she smiles.

"We don't grow up mentally, only physically. I'm 53 years old and I don't feel there at all. In recent years I've been performing with an 'Israeli party' - a show that happened to be born a decade ago and which continues to run - and it's great fun. I combine a DJ with musicians Live, and we bring the best of Israeli music to it. In preparation for the upcoming show, where we will celebrate 30 years since the beginning of my journey, we returned to all kinds of songs of mine that I haven't touched in a long time, which is very exciting."

What is different about you after all these years?

"I'm rediscovering all kinds of my songs today. In rehearsals I sang 'King of the Road', and I remember that when I sang it when it came out - I quickly took it out of the shows. Today, on the other hand, I'm very happy to sing it. This is something that also happened to me with the music videos. In the past, after a music video came out, I would say, 'It's beautiful, it's not beautiful,' and I had a lot of criticism. Today I enjoy it much more."

You have become more forgiving of yourself.

"I'm also more forgiving, and understand my movements and choices. I'm less anxious about everything I do and spend. I feel much more liberated, and it's probably also a matter of age."

And yet, you release a new song.

Isn't that accompanied by the fear that it will go through a playlist?

"I really try not to get into this loop of the playlist charts. Obviously, when I release a song after a long time, I want people to like it and connect with it. The big challenge is to expose it to a lot of people."

Today, with technology and networks, there are more platforms for playback.

"True, but the network is also more busy with young material by young people. Our generation is a little less on the network, but I have nothing to complain about, I have enough exposure on the network. I am active on the networks and satisfied with that."

Hazrat wrote "Sherat Lebed" together with Guy Vihel, and according to her, "I have a good connection with them, and we have a pleasant creative process. We are working on more songs that will be released later."

These days she also stars in the musical "Mama Mia!"

In the stage theater, and if you ask her - this is just the beginning.

"When Moses Captain gave me an opportunity to play in the theater, he instilled in me the germ of acting even more. I enjoy doing theater in a musical that combines my three loves: dance, acting and singing. It challenges and opens the mind."

Haziz's festive show will be held on January 27 at Gray Tel Aviv.
