The young woman won a six-month contract in a modeling competition in 1984.

"Tatjana was always the European symbol of chic - like 'Romy Schneider meets Monica Vitti'," Vogue boss Anna Wintour is quoted as saying by the magazine.
The fashion magazine was the first to report Patitz's death.
