Today, the meeting of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Bassam Ibrahim, and the President of the National Union of Syrian Students, Darren Suleiman, with university presidents, members of the Executive Office of the Student Union, and directors of university dormitories focused on discussing the reality of university housing, and ways to improve its services.
The meeting, which was held in the Ministry's building, also dealt with putting into effect the draft work automation program in university dormitories, starting with submitting the application, following up on registration and housing, developing it, and introducing appropriate amendments to it to serve students.
Minister Ibrahim stressed that university cities are the most important basic infrastructure on which universities are built, and an essential part for the success of the educational process, pointing to the need to develop student services within the city, set appropriate standards for admission and sorting students, and create an appropriate atmosphere for residence and meet the needs of students to ensure a good educational climate. for them.
Minister Ibrahim pointed out the importance of the work automation program in university dormitories in terms of simplifying procedures, entering data and information, achieving justice in housing and canceling housing for students who do not meet the conditions.
In her turn, the President of the National Union of Syrian Students stressed the importance of setting standards and plans and allocating resources to reach the ideal solution that serves students, pointing to the need for coordination between university cities, universities and the Student Union to discuss the problems and difficulties experienced by students, and to generalize the experience of the work automation program in the University City October on all universities and develop it to serve the educational process.
