"This day returns for us like every year, but it is a duty to be there and we will continue to be there in the memory and love of our loved ones, just as it is a duty to be present at the trial which we hope will bring justice for all 29 victims": so Marco Foresta who lost his parents in the tragedy, just before getting on the bus, which left around 12.25, which will take the relatives of the victims from the Pescara court to Rigopiano for the commemoration of the sixth year of the tragedy.
On the site of the tragedy at 4.49 pm a series of initiatives will be held which will culminate with a torchlight vigil in front of the obelisk of the hotel destroyed by the avalanche, a mass inside the site and subsequently the names of the "29 Angels" will be chanted, with ringing of the bell and subsequently placing 29 white roses inside the Hotel.
The anniversary marks the annual opening of the trial phase, scheduled for today and in fact "fate has ordained that the hearing in which the defense arguments of the defendants' lawyers will begin is scheduled for the sixth anniversary. With the permission of the judge we will leave to reach the place of the tragedy", explain the relatives.
"This time, all together, gathered in a bus, we will face the journey between anger at what we will hear in the courtroom to exculpate those responsible and pain in remembering our loved ones".
In January the hearings are scheduled for 18, 19 20 and 26, 27 and 28, when it will be the defenses' turn.
Then three more hearings on 15, 16 and 17 February for any replies.
