Pello Bilbao López de Armentia gives the second victory in the cycling Tour Down Under 2023 to Bahrain-Victorious.
The Spaniard triumphed at the finish line in Campbelltown, with a time of 2h48'10", at the end of the penultimate stage of the 116 km long Australian race.
Bilbao beat, at the end of a narrow sprint, the Englishman Simon Yates (Team Jayco Alula ) and Jay Vine (UAE Emirates), with whom he had escaped in the last kilometers of the race.
The first pursuers were 28" behind the leading trio, which was settled by the home favorite Michael Matthews (Team Jayco Alula) .
The best Italian in the order of arrival is Antonio Tiberi (Trek-Segafredo), seventh.
In the general classification, the Australian Jay Vine, with a time of 10h32'50", precedes Bilbao himself, second at 15", and Simon Yates, third at 16". Eighth is Antonio Tiberi at 58".
