(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, JAN 25 - EU leaders remain "determined to guarantee effective control of the external borders" of the EU and "to prevent the loss of human lives and reduce pressure on the EU borders" signal the strengthening of "cooperation with countries of origin and transit through mutually beneficial partnerships".
This is what we read in a first draft of the conclusions of the EU summit scheduled for 9 and 10 February in Brussels, which ANSA has read.
The EU heads of state and government also recall "the importance of a unified and effective policy" on "returns and readmissions".
