Nikki Haley, former US ambassador to the UN during the Trump administration and former governor of South Carolina, is ready to announce her candidacy for the White House on February 15 in Charleston.
In an email to her supporters she indicated that date for a "special announcement", which according to The Post and Courier newspaper is precisely her descent into her camp.
She will be the first Republican candidate to challenge Donald Trump in the primary.
