(ANSA) - ROME, 08 FEB - Red alert tomorrow for hydraulic risk and hydrogeological risk on the eastern sectors of Sicily.
Orange alert was also assessed on part of Sicily and Calabria and yellow alert on the remaining basins.
This is indicated by a weather warning from the Civil Protection.
Starting tomorrow, a low pressure area from North Africa will bring widespread and persistent rainfall to the extreme southern regions, especially to the Ionian sectors.
Furthermore, the low temperatures will cause snowfalls at relatively low altitudes, with accumulations ranging from moderate to abundant.
From the early hours of tomorrow, therefore, thunderstorms are expected in Calabria, especially in the southern sectors and in Sicily, especially in the central-eastern sectors.
The phenomena will be accompanied by heavy showers, frequent electrical activity and strong wind gusts.
Snowfalls above 500-700 meters are also expected in Sardinia, and the persistence of snowfalls in Calabria and Sicily, with contributions to the ground generally moderate, up to abundant in Sicily and southern Calabria.
