(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, FEBRUARY 08 - Tomorrow the European Parliament's Industry commission will vote on its proposal for a directive on the energy performance of buildings, which provides for the recalculation of energy classes, with class D up to 2033 for residential accommodation.
The text should pass in plenary in March, so MEPs will be able to begin negotiations with the European Commission and the Swedish presidency representing the states, to reach a compromise between the three positions.
The text that will go to the vote tomorrow is based on an agreement between the Populars (EPP), Socialists (S&D), Liberals (Renew), Greens and the Left.
Against Ecr (of which FdI is a part) and Id (of which the League is a part).
Forza Italia also withdrew from the position of its political home, the Ppe.
Despite "as the European People's Party we have obtained some corrective measures - declared FI MEP Massimiliano Salini - there are no conditions to vote in favour".
"The compromise is pejorative compared to the initial proposal of the European Commission - he concluded - and we hope it will be improved in the negotiations that will engage the EU institutions in the coming weeks".
