Southampton, bottom of the Premier League, have announced the sacking of their second manager of the season, Nathan Jones, who has only been in charge for three months.
On Saturday, against Wolverhampton (2-1), the Saints recorded their 15th defeat in 22 days, with just four wins and three draws.
It was the team's seventh league defeat under the orders of Jones, who had left Luton in the Championship (P2) in November, just before the truce for the 2022 World Cup, to take over from Ralph Hasenthüttl, in charge of four years.
Southampton are currently 20th in the table on 15 points, four points behind Leeds, 17th and first outside the relegation zone, with one game left.
One of the first-team coaches, Rubén Sellés, has been appointed on an interim basis, the club said.
