The Rome gup has indicted Biagio Passaro, leader of "IoApro", for the assault on the CGIL that took place on 9 October 2021. Prosecutor Gianfederica Dito disputes the crimes of devastation and looting against the entrepreneur.
The trial, one of the strands of the max investigation, has been set for May 30th before the judges of the second collegial section of the Capitoline court.
The suspect's position had been removed in December 2021 after the Review had confirmed prison for other suspects but freeing Passaro.
On the basis of the prosecution Passaro took an "active part in the demonstration called against the Green Pass in Piazza del Popolo" and was present in the "large procession of demonstrators" that reached the union headquarters in Corso d'Italia.
There he resumed the unrest and what was happening with "his smartphone in a live Facebook broadcast" pronouncing the sentence: "the invasion started from the CGIL, we are entering inside, who knows! They broke through, we are inside the CGIL".
In another legal case, the entrepreneur active in the catering sector was reached, last December, by a precautionary custody order of house arrest, in an investigation by the Bologna Public Prosecutor's Office in which the crimes of fraudulent bankruptcy, undue perception of public funds and self-laundering.
