(ANSA) - ROME, FEBRUARY 15 - The Bank of Italy is calling on banks to "evaluate very carefully" communications to their customers about increased current account costs due to "high inflation", recalling how customers have "the right to withdraw from the contract without charge by the date of entry into force of the new conditions".
Via Nazionale also reminded the credit institutions that the increase in ECB interest rates can increase their profitability and is "capable of offsetting the increase in costs induced by inflation" as well as allowing them to raise the yield on deposit accounts, which have been reset in recent years.
