Cold wave: how is the weather forecast for the long weekend across the country?

with temperatures typical of winter.

 The 7.9 degrees recorded at 6:40 a.m. is the lowest temperature for February since 1961.

The cold wave especially affects the City of Buenos Aires and the provinces of Buenos Aires, Santa Cruz, Río Negro, Chubut, Entre Ríos, La Pampa, Mendoza, Córdoba, San Luis and Tierra del Fuego;

with temperatures below 10 degrees.

Meanwhile, the National Meteorological Service (SMN) issued yellow alerts this Friday for strong winds from the southern sector for the City of Buenos Aires and much of the center and south of the province of Buenos Aires, including the Atlantic coast.

The area

will be affected by winds from the southern sector

with speeds between 40 and 60 kilometers per hour and gusts that can exceed 75 kilometers per hour, which caused a marked drop in temperatures for this summer season.

In

CABA and La Plata, the minimums are between 6-9 degrees

minimum and 18-19 degrees maximum, while in Mar del Plata and other beaches in Buenos Aires, rains and temperatures between 7 and 15 degrees are forecast, for both ends. .

Further towards the center of Buenos Aires, several towns such as Tandil, Olavarría, Laprida, Azul, Saladillo, Navarro, among others, are also under yellow alert due to strong winds, and in the south it reaches several cities such as Bahía Blanca, Púan and Carmen de Patagones.

The SMN recommended that residents of areas under alert avoid outdoor activities and secure items that can be blown up.

Forecast for the long weekend

The extra long weekend for carnival started cold, but it is expected that as the days go by the temperatures will begin to rise, up to more logical marks for summer.

For Saturday, partly cloudy skies are expected for the City of Buenos Aires and surroundings with minimums around 10 degrees and maximums of 23.

On Sunday the sky will be clearer and the temperatures will rise: minimums of 15 degrees and maximums of 28 are estimated. On Monday they will rise to a minimum of 18 and a maximum of 31.

The warmest day of the long weekend will be Tuesday with a temperature of 21 degrees for the start of the day and highs of up to 32 degrees.
