(ANSA) - ROME, FEBRUARY 17 - "In Hollywood they give me this star, unlike in Venice where they haven't given me even a black cat".
It is the ironic joke with which Giancarlo Giannini comments on the star he will receive on the Walk of Fame in a video message sent at the presentation of Filming Italy - Los Angeles 2023, the festival created and directed by Tiziana Rocca (Agnus Dei), made with the Italian Institute of Culture of Los Angeles and in collaboration with the Audiovisual Producers Association, for the promotion of Italian works and artists abroad which will be held from 28 February to 3 March 2023.
Among the events linked to this eighth edition, dedicated to Gina Lollobrigida, there is the conferral, on March 6, of the star (the 16th that goes to an Italian artist) on the Walk of Fame to Giancarlo Giannini.
"I'm intimidated by receiving the star in Hollywood-explains the actor-. I've been to America many times, also bringing my films with Llina Wermuller. We've had good success" he recalls.
"I had an Oscar nomination for Pasqualino Settebellezze, but I think the star is more important. So I am always a star for the public" he comments with a smile.
A few days before the star, on March 3, Giannini will receive the Filming ItalyAchievement Award at the Festival, and a film marathon will be dedicated to him.
