Silver to the other Swiss Loic Meillard in 2'34"40 and bronze for the Austrian Marco Schwarz in 2'34"48. For Italy, the best again in this world championship race was the twenty-one-year-old Filippo Della Vite from Bergamo: 10/o in 2'36"42.
Then, there is the Piedmontese Giovanni Borsotti who, after the 18th time of the initial heat, finished 11th in 1'22"48, his best result of the season. The Trentino Luca De Aliprandini, 14th after the first heat, he finished in 14th place in 2'38"68.
Instead, the South Tyrolean Alex Vinatzer ended up outside, 23rd after the first heat, after leaning too much on the final wall.
