The Academy Awards ceremony will take place in three weeks, and already this evening (Sunday) one of the most important preliminary ceremonies of the film industry took place - the BAFTA, the British equivalent of the Oscars.
The big winner of the ceremony was the German "There is nothing new in the West", which won no less than 7 categories, including the best film, director and adapted screenplay.
Although it swept the ceremony, this does not indicate that it has become the big favorite for the Oscars, since only once in history has a foreign film won the best film award ("Parasites" from 2019).
Because many of the members of the British Film Academy, which awards the BAFTAs, are also members of the American Academy, which awards the Oscars - which indicates that tonight's winners can perhaps prepare your winning speech at the upcoming Oscar ceremony as well.
