The police in Brandenburg are still looking for the offender, who fled on Wednesday despite preventive detention.
Apparently there is still no serious trace, the public search with a picture of the man did not bring any decisive findings.
"The clues are limited," said a spokeswoman for the police situation service in Potsdam on Sunday.
According to the Ministry of Justice, two justice officials had left the man out of sight for a short time during an exit in Berlin on Wednesday.
The 64-year-old managed to escape when going to the toilet in a downtown shopping center.
The police have been looking for the man since Friday with a picture.
He had been sentenced to a long term of imprisonment for manslaughter and sexual offenses and housed in Brandenburg an der Havel.
After serving his sentence, he was placed in preventive detention in 2017, which can be ordered for particularly dangerous offenders.
The ministry also announced that official and labor law measures had been initiated against the judicial staff because they had not sufficiently supervised the person in preventive detention.
So far, the man's exits have been without problems.
