"People are amazingly kind, it was really a shock for me," said
Lisa Laflame
, the veteran Canadian journalist, regarding the public support for her sudden dismissal from the CTV News network.
A long-standing system existed between Laflam and the news channel that decided in June 2022 to fire her.

According to her, her gray hair played a major role in the dismissal.
The 58-year-old journalist started dyeing her hair at a very young age and struggled with the unruly hairs that popped out.
The corona crisis and the closing of the beauty salons led her to the conclusion that enough is enough!
She doesn't have to commit suicide to chemistry and you can adopt the new look and love it.
The one who didn't like the style at the time was the news channel she broadcast on, which she says caused the relationship to go down the drain.
"The most reactions I've ever gotten weren't for months in Baghdad or Afghanistan, or any other story — but when I let my hair go gray."
Leflame even told stories from her early days as a field reporter, having to dye her hair in the bare bathroom of a Baghdad bunker with a bit of hair dye.
Later in the article in "The Times", Laflam shares that she has "living memories of not being taken seriously as a reporter".
She mentioned a time she walked past an office where three senior managers laughed at one of her stories, and another example, when a male colleague commented on her outfit.
She went on to say that over the years she also received letters from two male colleagues apologizing for their behavior.
