According to reports abroad, the Rolling Stones and members of the Beatles, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are expected to record music together • All details

Will the two surviving members of the Beatles - Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr - be guests on the Rolling Stones' new album?

The American entertainment magazine Variety published last night (Tuesday) that this summit meeting will indeed happen, and if the report really comes true - there is no doubt that this is one of the greatest musical collaborations of all time, one that millions of fans could only dream of in the last 60 (!) years.

According to the publication, several sources in the music industry have confirmed to Variety - unquote - that McCartney has already recorded some bass guitar parts for the Stones' next album, while Starr is also expected to drum on part of the project, which has yet to be revealed (Charlie Watts, the Stones' legendary drummer, went He passed away in 2021, but it is estimated that he managed to contribute his part to several new songs).

It was also reported that the recordings took place in the last few weeks in Los Angeles, but it is still unclear which songs will find their way to the album itself - and whether McCartney and Starr play together on the same song (or songs).

Representatives from the Stones and the former Beetles duo have not yet released an official statement on the matter nor have they responded to Variety's inquiry, but it can be assumed that the announcement of the Stones' next project will be made soon, and there is a high probability that the album itself will be released this year.

That's because in an Instagram video uploaded by Keith Richards on January 11, the 79-year-old guitarist announced that "there's new music on the way."

Also, when McCartney was recently asked what he was most looking forward to in 2023, he replied "I've recorded music with some people, and I want to do even more."

The Rolling Stones' last studio album, Blue & Lonesome, was released in 2016, but contained only cover versions of songs by other artists.

The band's last album of new and original songs, A Bigger Bang, was released sometime in 2005 - almost 20 years ago.
